Forums and Scientific Conferences.

Throughout its 46 years of existence the main activity of the IFPS has been to hold international Forums and Conferences. The Federation has sponsored fourteen International Forums of Psychoanalysis: Amsterdam 1962, Zurich 1965, Mexico City 1969, New York 1972, Zurich 1974, Berlin 1977, Zurich 1985, Rio de Janeiro 1989, Florence 1994, Madrid 1998 New York 2000, Oslo, 2002, Belo Horizonte 2004 and Rome 2006.

It has also sponsored eight Scientific Conferences: Göttingen 1968, Madrid 1970, Haikko, Finland 1980, Madrid 1984, New York 1987, Stockholm 1991, Munich 1992, and Athens 1996.

The XV IFPS International Forum of Psychoanalysis in 2008, will be hosted by Sociedad Chilena de Psicoanálisis ICHPA and it will be held in Santiago de Chile, Chile October 15-18. The central topic will be: Identity and Globalization, The New Challenge for Psychoanalysts. The XVI IFPS International Forum will be en 2010 hosted by the Hellenic Society for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (hspp@otenet.gr) in Greece.
