In seiner 46 jährigen Existenz ist die Hauptaktivität der IFPS die
Organisation internationaler Foren und Konferenzen gewesen. Die Föderation hat vierzen
internationale Psychoanalyse-Foren unterstützt: Amsterdam 1962, Zürich 1965,
Mexiko-Stadt 1969, New York 1972, Zürich 1974, Berlin 1977, Zürich 1985, Rio de
Janeiro 1989, Florenz 1994, Madrid 1998, New York 2000, Oslo 2002, Belo
Horizonte 2004 und Rom 2006.
Sie hat ebenfalls acht wissenschaftliche Konferenzen unterstützt: Göttingen
1968, Madrid 1970, Haikko (Finnland) 1980, Madrid 1984, New York 1987,
Stockholm 1991, München 1992 und Athen 1996.
